EHLERS & VISBY

Mr. Jan Ehlers

DESIGNER MAKER – STUDIO METAL CRAFTSMAN – SCRAP METAL COLLECTOR – ELECTRICIAN

After my education as an electrician, I started studying on Graphic Art School. Pretty soon I found the metal more fascinating, than the etching and printing part.

For three decades now, I have been searching for metals with a natural and original patina I can cut, shape, grind and polish to integrate in my interior design tasks.
The combined process of design and production is a fundamental aspect of my work.

The angle grinder is my favourite tool. I like to be spontaneous, and start working directly with the materials I´ve just found or acquired.

Of all the metals iron is my favourite material. The textures that occurs when iron rusts has an overlooked beauty, and this is what I seek to capture, fix and expose.

Miss Lone Visby Olsen

DESIGNER – STUDIO MANAGER – SCRAP METAL COLLECTOR

I work with the design, material selection, and project management of Ehlers & Visby creations.

My background experience is an early start at Business School as a Window Display Designer – a beginning that has greatly influenced my sense of eye-catching elements and aesthetics of art, beauty and taste. Since then I have worked 25 years as a freelance professional in the Danish film industry.

My career took a change of direction after meeting Jan Ehlers, whom I went go to work for, and later formed a partnership with.

To collect the items for our production and Stock is a delightful experience, because this is where I can think freely and imagine the wonderful things we can create.

When it comes to development of our designs and the final decisions regarding proportions and functionality, I'm choosy, headstrong and keen. I want to make sure that interior will suit the customer and the specific site.
